10 Ways to Jump Start Your Day
Before getting out of bed:
1. Express gratitude…
Take a moment to send some mental thanks. Realizing that you’re already living in a state of bliss helps brighten your day.
2. Thump the Thymus:
The following three suggestions are adapted from Donna Eden’s book Energy Medicine and should be part of everyone’s daily routine to help strengthen and energize the body. The thymus gland contributes to the development of a strong, healthy immune system. By tapping on this area first thing in the morning and then a few more times throughout the day, we keep this gland stimulated. So where is it?
Thymus? Picture Tarzan pounding in the center of his chest, activating the thymus before what he was really doing. Take a leaf out of his book to start the energy flowing into your day.
3. Rubbing K-27 Points:
K-27 points are very special points on the body! These points are also used in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to channel the energy system in the right direction. K-27 will help strengthen the immune system, improve concentration and alertness. To locate K-27 (which is the endpoint of the Kidney Meridian) place your fingers at the tip of the collarbone, then slide your fingers down the center of the collarbone, then down about an inch. You will feel a slight indentation. Points often hurt when first stimulated, but this subsides with regular practice. Tapping or rubbing these specific spots will send a wake-up message to the brain to adjust your energy so you feel more alert. Feeling drowsy during a midday meeting with the boss? Act on these points!
4. Activate the Spleen Point:
These are the neurolymphatic points on your spleen meridian, which, like the two above, will help boost the immune system, energize the body, and balance blood chemistry. How can I find these points? They are depressions between the 7th and 8th ribs, just below the level of the breastbone or sternum. Move your hands under your breasts, directly below the nipples, then down to the front rib. As with the points mentioned above, they can cause injuries when stimulated if not done regularly.
Now get out of bed and continue…..
5. Dry Brush Your Skin:
Before getting in the shower, get into the habit of dry brushing your skin. This technique has many benefits such as aiding in detoxification, stimulating blood circulation, increasing cell renewal, cleansing the lymph system and strengthening the immune system. Using a long-handled brush with natural bristles (not synthetic please!), begin brushing the skin. Keeping the brush dry, start at the base and work your way to the heart. Brush in a circular motion with strong strokes, covering all parts of the body until you reach the heart area. Then start at the head and work down, back towards the heart, covering the rest of the body. By the time you’re done, your bath will be for cleansing and not for waking you up.
6. Shower Visualization:
While you are physically washing in the shower, try visualizing to clear the energy field of mental debris around you (your aura). Visualize the light coming from the showerhead with the water, I like to picture a vibrant violet light. As the light touches the body, imagine it burning away or displacing any energetic debris clinging to your aura, the water will then wash away the microscopic particles as they loosen their grip. At the end of the shower, you feel so refreshed!
7. Oil Up:
Once you get out of the shower, follow each of the previous steps and apply oil with the best skin conditioner – natural organic coconut oil. When applied topically to the skin, coconut oil helps keep the skin well moisturized, young, healthy and disease-free. Add coconut oil to your diet and watch the health benefits multiply. End your day by applying coconut oil to your skin at night
And your youthful appearance will be the envy of many.
8. Quit Java:
Instead of starting your morning with a cup of coffee, drink warm water with 2 teaspoons each of unfiltered apple cider vinegar and raw honey. It is important that it is organic, non-filtered apple cider vinegar that can provide health benefits. Although it doesn’t sound appetizing, it’s not really a difficult drink to drink and makes it quite enjoyable. Some of the benefits include helping you become more regular by relieving constipation, improving skin texture, and helping you become more regular.
To reduce acne, plus it leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to go!
9. Have breakfast!
Defined: The act of preparing a simple, easy, balanced, nutritious meal to start the day. Remember this is the most important meal of the day. I like to remember this with the phrase “breakfast like a king, lunch like a lord, and dine like a pauper.” Skipping breakfast slows down normal body functions like metabolism and then stays low for the rest of the day, making it harder for your body to use the energy from the foods you eat later.
10. Oxygenate your body
It seems so simple, yet so many times we miss it- to take a deep breath. How many of you reading this are breathing in short shallow breaths right now? Come on now, raise your hand, I know who you are! Breathe when you feel the need for extra energy! Inhale for a slow count of 3, hold for a slow count of 3, exhale for a slow count of 3. Do this for a few minutes with focus and intention, then check your energy level again. If you’ve done it right, you’ve managed to really jumpstart your day. With this deep breath you are increasing your vitality while reducing stress.
