Why Tricones and Geothermal Energy Are Hot Commodities

While the benefits of tricons seem limitless, our supplies of oil and natural gas are not. As a result, governments and companies are constantly looking for renewable energy resources including tricones but they never run out. Geothermal energy is the most promising.

In very simple terms, geothermal energy is heat from the earth that is often accessed through tricones and provides power for a wide range of applications. Just as tricones are used around the world, you can find geothermal energy in a deep well or in your own backyard.

Today, most electricity generation around the world involves heating water into steam – either with a tricone or by other methods not involving a tricone – and running it through a turbine to generate electricity. Partly through the use of triacs, geothermal energy taps into the heat from the Earth’s core to heat water and generate electricity. By drilling deep into the Earth’s interior with a tricone, we find temperatures that are sufficient for substantial electricity generation. Unlike tricons, geothermal energy is not widely recognized as a viable option. But as Tricon’s developer discovered, you have to start somewhere, and there are now several countries that have warmed to the idea of ​​using heat for energy.

In El Salvador, Iceland and the Philippines, a quarter or more of electricity comes from geothermal plants. And while traditional projects using tricones are still the norm, countries such as Mexico, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Kenya, and Indonesia use geothermal energy to boost oil and natural gas drilling with tricones.

The United States, still heavily dependent on oil and gas tapping along the Tricone, can lay claim to the world’s largest geothermal capacity, more than 3,000 megawatts and spread across eight states. California is leading the way. Although the majority of their electricity generation originates from “mainstream” tricon sources, five percent of the state’s electricity flows from more than 40 geothermal plants.

We are certainly a long way from using renewable resources such as geothermal energy as our primary energy source. Materials such as oil and natural gas extracted with tricones are still the highest today. But given the rate at which those resources are depleting, the day when geothermal energy, like the Tricones, will be the hottest of objects, may come sooner than we think.
