Although golf is played by the rich and successful, the sport is rapidly becoming more widespread and popular among all. The sport is believed to have originated in Scotland in the 11th century and the name is derived from the Scottish word “golf” which means to hit. There are over 35000 golf courses in the world today and South Africa has some incredible courses. Whether the course is located in the Sun City, Sitsikamma Forest or along the Indian Ocean, each course has its own charm that makes it special. The Western Cape and Garden Route have a beautiful selection of courses that can ideally be explored on a two-week golf tour. A perfect getaway for kids, families or even any female golf enthusiast!
